Anaphylaxis procedure

ANAPHYLACTIC PROCEDURE

Anaphylactic reactions are life–threatening to children suffering from allergies. Therefore the school needs to provide a safe environment for these children.

All children with the potential for an anaphylactic reaction will be identified to all staff by the creation of a current photograph and caption detailing allergy. This will be displayed in a prominent position. Children with potential severe allergic reactions will have allergy kits with their name on them available in the School Administration Manager's cabinet.

No peanut products or products containing substantial peanut particles are to be sold in the school grounds. All children with the potential for anaphylactic reactions will be catered for on excursions. An emergency kit may be available in consultation with parents of the child.
